Protecting the health and safety of your customers

Protecting the health and safety of your customers

We are focused on prioritizing the health and safety of our restaurant partners, customers, and delivery partners. Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we recommend taking the following protective measures:

  • Practice good hygiene
    • Remind employees to clean their hands thoroughly and often by using an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
  • Take care of yourself
    • Ask employees to stay home if they feel unwell. If they have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, encourage them to seek medical attention.
  • Take precaution when interacting with customers and drivers
    • If you deliver your own food, remind delivery drivers to use their insulated delivery bag (and to frequently disinfect it) to transport the diner’s food from the restaurant.

Remember–never touch a customer’s food with bare hands and be extra aware of following proper hygiene procedures when in restaurants. For customer confidence, we recommend tying or sealing delivery and to-go orders.

If you have visited a level 1, 2 or 3 country based on the CDC’s travel guidance, or had contact with someone who has, please use caution. Use your best judgment when interacting with your local Grubhub drivers, customers, and your employees.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely, but encourage you to stay informed on the latest updates from authorities such as the CDC and the World Health Organization by visiting their websites. For restaurant specific recommendations, please refer to the National Restaurant Association website.
